This weekend’s X Factor final is gearing up to be an explosive show according to Paddy Power, and not just because feuding Peter Andre and Katie Price are both set to attend! The bookmaker is betting 2/1 that this weekend’s show will rake in a record 20 million viewers to see either Joe McElderry, Stacey Soloman or Olly Murs be crowned this year’s winner.
Baby faced Geordie Joe McElderry looks a safe bet at 2/5 with Paddy Power to be crowned this year’s winner and an even safer bet at 1/8 to top the charts this Christmas. Despite a fierce campaign by ‘Rage Against The Machine’ to pip the X Factor winner to the top of the Charts, bookies Paddy Power have announced the race officially over by paying out on X Factor for Christmas Number 1.
Sharon McHugh, spokesperson for Paddy Power, said: “The X Factor is a monster that just cannot be beaten. We’re certain that this year’s X Factor winner will be top of the Charts on Christmas Day so we’ve decided to payout early to all our customers who placed a bet – just in time to start the Christmas shopping!”
This year’s series of X Factor enjoyed acres of press coverage thanks to Irish twins Jedward and some amazing guest appearances but new judge Cheryl Cole’s fashion sense also commanded everyone’s attention, so much so, that Paddy Power have dedicated a very special betting market to the Girls Aloud star.
Punters can this year bet on what colour ensemble the ‘Fight For Your Love’ star appears in on Sunday night. Gold is the bookies 3/1 favourite followed by silver at 7/2. It’s an outside bet at 500/1 that Cheryl will show up in a bin bag, mind you she’d probably look just as good if she did!
