WILLIAM HILL have cut their odds for an early General Election from 3/1 to 7/4 after a flurry of bets.

Who Will be next PM?
Hills believe that the most likely date for the General Election is May 6, 2010 and make that their 2/5 favourite, but a run of bets from political betting specialists for it to be earlier saw them slash those odds, while they offer 14/1 that it will take place later than May 6.
‘An early General Election could happen if Gordon Brown believes the opinion polls are showing as positive a position for Labour as he believes is likely in the short-term, and that seems to be what punters are banking on. But we believe his natural caution won’t let him take the plunge before May next year’ said Hill’s spokesman Graham Sharpe.
And punters have also been betting that the Election will produce a Hung Parliament – now down to 9/4 from 3/1, while the Conservatives are 2/5 favourites to win an overall majority, with Labour 11/1 to do likewise.
HILLS; When will General Election taplace? – 2/5 May 6, 2010; 7/4 Earlier than that; 14/1 Later than that.
TO WIN ELECTION WITH OVERALL MAJORITY; 2/5 Cons; 11/1 Lab; 9/4 Hung Parliament.
