Michael Jackson’s ‘This Is It’ is being tipped for Oscar glory. The movie is 7/4 with Paddy Power to be nominated for Best Picture at next year’s Academy Awards and just 6/1 to win Best Picture.

This is It
If ‘This Is It’ does get the nod it will be the first documentary in Oscar history to make the Best Picture nominations list.
To qualify for the Oscars, the film must complete a seven-day run in Los Angeles County and filmmakers would need to submit the proper paperwork but there’s a lot of buzz around the movie particularly after smashing the worldwide box office.
Paddy Power are also quoting 9/4 that ‘This Is It’, directed by Kenny Ortega, will be nominated for a Golden Globe Award and 8/1 that it wins the Globe for Best Picture in 2010.
The odds on Michael himself winning a posthumous Oscar from the grave are 25/1.
Sharon McHugh, spokesperson for Paddy Power said: “According to Oscar boffins, ‘This Is It’ received a fantastic reception at the academy screening in LA on Sunday and there are now lots of whispers that it will be this year’s Oscar banker!”
