Bookies Paddy Power are betting Jedward’s departure from this year’s X Factor could see TV ratings plummet to an all time low.
An astonishing 15.9 million viewers tuned in to watch Irish twins John and Edward receive their marching orders, almost a million shy of the record 16.6 million that tuned in to watch Lucie Jones get the boot.
With the terrible twosome now out of this year’s series it’s debateable whether the show is even worth watching. It’s odds on at 4/6 with Paddy Power that peak viewing figures will take a plunge this week and just 4/1 that it slips to an all time low of under 14million!
Sharon McHugh, spokesperson for Paddy Power said: “Whether you loved them or loathed them Jedward were the star attraction of this year’s X Factor. It will be very interesting to see just how many people bother to tune in to the rest of this year’s hopefuls!”
To ease punters disappointment Paddy Power announced they would be refunding ALL bets placed on the twins to win this years X Factor. Over €25,000 was given back to people who got behind the Lucan lads.
Meanwhile, Jedmania continues to live on. Punters have been going crazy betting on what lies ahead for Jedward. It’s just 5/1 that they sign a multi-million pound deal with ITV, 6/1 they represent Ireland at next year’s Eurovision, 8/1 they get their own ‘John and Edward’ show, and 100/1 they appear on the front cover of Time magazine!
Even the twins’ hair continues to be a massive talking point and punters are even betting on whether or not the lads will keep their trademark ‘do’. It’s 4/1 that the terrible twosome adopt a flat-top style next and 6/1 they sport a Mohican.
