DESPITE recent improvements including a Champions Trophy victory over their hosts, England are odds against to win their forthcoming ODI series in South Africa.

Ladbrokes make Andrew Strauss’ men 5/2 with their counterparts odds on at 2/7. Kevin Pietersen is 3/1 favourite to top score in the series after being named in the squad and 7/2 to score three or more centuries in the Twenty20′s, ODI’s and Tests. He is 6/4 to play in all five one day internationals and 7/4 to be the top scoring South African born player in the England team.
Ladbrokes spokesman Robin Hutchison said: “England’s recent improvements will be strongly tested by a South African side smarting from an early Champions Trophy exit.”
